The social and environmental responsibility of our brand is at the heart of our concerns. Fundamentally focused on the requirement of quality and respect for the environment and human beings, our collections are manufactured on pre-order and order in short circuit, with a sourcing of materials and local manufacturers of high quality for a sustainable and respectful fashion. This system allows us on the one hand to avoid the waste generated by surplus stock, on the other hand to spare our cash flow.
Our textiles, as well as supplies, come mostly from France (Lyon region, Vosges and Normandy), a little from Spain and a little from Italy. We work closely with houses that agree to produce small yardages and can also offer their end of stocks.
On the other hand, we wish to keep the manufacturing in France because it is very important for us to preserve our know-how and our textile industrial heritage. Today garment making, embroidery and screen printing are carried out in the middle of Paris.
Our credo: quality rather than quantity, respect for workers rather than the race for low prices, creativity and innovation rather than standardization, local for a reduced carbon footprint and respect for the environment.
We are therefore part of what is called "slow-fashion", a movement that aims to encourage people to buy less but better, a reasoned mode of consumption.
By offering collections that are both trendy and made from high-end, local and traceable craftsmanship and know-how, Studio Rice is turning this sustainable model into a lever of modernity.
